A Inteligência Aplicada à Produção Acadêmica: Uma análise dos projetos financiados na UFSC em tempos de pandemia

Abstract

The Federal University of Santa Catarina is a reference institution in terms of Teaching, Research and Extension, and even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it managed to develop more than 200 research and extension actions with external funding, totaling more than 74 millions of reais. The study mapped all these projects developed between March 13, 2020 and March 13, 2021, and during the analysis it was found that the Technological Center and the Health Sciences Center were the teaching centers that developed the most projects financed, both in terms of quantity and in terms of financial support. Therefore, it was decided to carry out data analysis from text mining, verifying the titles, as well as the summaries of each project of these centers. Mining complex texts is still a challenge with regard to accurate conclusions, but what can be seen in the analysis of word clouds, titles and project summaries from the CTC and CCS is that both centers develop the science in a wide range of projects and lines of research. Since it was not possible to find specific terms or words from certain lines that stand out more than others.
